170: What happened in the early 1800's the change last name?Heritage Forums - February 2000 |

My great great great grandparents lived in Civitella del Tronto. Around the early 1800's our last name was changed from di Francesco to Lepore. Was there a war, earthquake or some other event that may have killed the parents and the kids were taken in by another family that changed the name? According to our family tree this happened around the 1820's. If you are familiar with the history of the area that may answer this question our family would appreciate it very much to know.
