In Reply to: Researching Marinelli and Zecchia surnames in Pescara Abruzzo posted by Michelle on February 03, 19100 at 14:29:33: hi, michelle! don't know if this helps, but my grandfather, Dominic Marinelli, and my grandmother, Ana Rosa Tatone-Marinelli, hail from the Abruzzi region. My grandfather has passed on, but my grandmother is alive and well (87!!) and living in PA. My grandparents emigrated to PA with little trouble, as my greatgrandfather had a business in PA, and my grandfather was born in America, though he lived most of his life in the Abruzzi. I wish I could be more specific as to where...I know that their town was famous for its lentils, if that helps! :) I don't know much more about my grandfather's family, though most of my grandmother's side is living in Canada. I am extremely proud of my Italian heritage. My grandfather worked in the mines when they got here, and I respect his work ethic greatly. He was never a rich man, but he did what he had to do to support his family. My Nana is the sweetest woman who ever lived and continues to cook extravagant meals, mow her own lawn, garden, you name it. I can only pray that i am as active at 87. She rocks. Take care,
