Subject:   De Leonardis family

Don't know if this can help you in any way but I can tell you that there were at least 2 De Leonardis sisters, in the village of Pacentro, province of L'Aquila, in the latter half of the 19th century. I know this as they seem to have both been married to the same man and 2 daughters of one of the sisters married two of my grandmother's brothers and all emigrated to USA, where their descendants still live.

They were Raffaella de Leonardis b. 24 Feb 1851 and Anna De Leonardis b. 3 Sep 1866. Don't know their father's name or if they had any brothers but this would probably be on file at the Comune and therefore likely to be accessible via a Family History Centre of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) which you probably could get to.

You don't mention a place in Abruzzo and I see your other follow-ups relate to Sicily but thought this might possibly be more relevant.

According to the surnames in Abruzzo list for Pacentro (see Genealogy home page on the Abruzzo web site to check other comune in all provinces) the De Leonardis name is no longer listed in the village but that might just mean that there are some women who had that maiden name and are now married.

If you think this might be relevant, please e-mail me and I'll dig out the info I do have.
