Posted by cheechamia  --  NAME: Michelle on February 03, 19100 at 14:29:33: Subject:   researching Marinelli and Zecchia surnames in Pescara Abruzzo Hi all...researching the surnames of my grandmother Mary Stella Marinelli and my grandfather Peter Zecchia. They were from Musellaro, province of Pescara, Abruzzo. They arrived in the U.S. between 1900 and 1902. I know my grandmother, born in 1875, had a brother Paul and a sister Marion. I do not know anything else about her mother and father. My grandfather, born in 1869, is difficult to do a search on since he was put up for adoption and was given the last name of Zecchia by the orphanage. Just curious if anyone else researching these surnames. I'm sure Marinelli is as common in Italy as Smith is in the U.S.!
