Anthony...Each time I went to Pizzone from Rome I was driven by either my cousin from there or a native to Rome. The only thing that I remember for sure is that we took a toll road. We went through Campobasso, and were near San Vincenza, but we did some winding to visit with my cousins. Wish that I could be more specific. In Pizzone itself, you can see the entire town in a matter of hours. At the very top of the mountain is the original church that was destroyed in an earthquake some time ago. My grandfather had reconstructed it, but it was since destroyed again and made unaccessible due to safety concerns. There is another church half-way up the mountain that has been totally renovated to look more modern. In the basement of the church were remnants of the old church. The little piazza is contains the shrine to St. Liberata, the patron saint. Be sure to see the spectacular view from the mountains on your way up. The cemetary is the very first thing that you will see as you enter the town. I am sure that you will find your relatives and well as mine there...which are probably the same since my grandmother was a D'Andrea. Enjoy your stay! Are there any relatives there that you are going to visit? Let me know what you think...it is a wonderful experience!

Sue
