: Also this is apparently not a common italian surname, checking the italian white pages on line, I found a couuple of dozen people who show up scatered through Abbruzzo and another 30 or so more in the rest of Italy- mostly in Rome. So I think this history should not be to hard to ferret out. Any information before my trip would be helpful.

: By the way my father changed the last letter to y from i - he thought it added distinction, I always just thought it was confusing. Dan: Could you give me your grandfather's name and when he was born. My greatgrandfather married a Flora Maria Ottavia Sirolli in 1863/1864. You are correct.
I have not found many Sirolli's.
