My husband and I took the train to Chieti and took the "local" bus (it's on a level below the town piazza, down a huge outdoor escalator) to Villamagna, which is only 1 village away from Bucchianico.

Be prepared: there will most likely only be 1 bus coming and going per day. You may have to purchase your tickets at the tabacchi in the main piazza in advance -- check with someone first.

If you don't have a car, that's the only way to do it unless you hitchhike from Chieti.

Good luck! Wish I were going!

: Any help with the best way to get from Rome to Bucchianico? I've been told take a train to Chieti
: area and then bus up the hill to Bucchianico. Does this sound right?

: Thanks in advance
