Thanks for you message. Almost sounds like we could have the same paternal grandfather except that the next generation facts don't match. The details you mentioned also fit my father's father, known in this country as Arthur Richardi. He served in the US Army during WW I and then returned to New York City where worked in stained glass in famous Rambusch studios on East 13th Street in Greenwich Village in Manhattan. Except for brief sojourns in Chicago and New Jersey, he and his second wife, Mary Edna Moore, lived on East 65th Street until he died in 1974. My father, Henry Arthur Richardi, died in 1978 in Atlanta, GA, where he had lived with my mother since they met and married there during WW II. Having grown up in Georgia surrounded my my mother's family, I don't know a lot about the history of my father's family. Just tidbits mentioned here and there such as the fact that the name was originally "Ricciardi" and was changed to "Richardi" on Ellis Island. My grandfather was divorced (?!?) from his first wife, the mother of his two sons, and bitterly estranged from her and his younger son, Arthur Richardi. I'm not sure what the story was since he remained a practicing Roman Catholic. There were hints that it was an arranged marriage and that she was mentally unstable. When last I heard my Uncle Arthur was still alive and living in New Jersey. There's mention of a glove factory somewhere in the family history and my grandfather seems to have had some brothers. The only name I recall is Bennie. He also had a sister named Marie with the married name Alfano. Do you think we might be related?
