19: ABATE family

Subject:   ABATE family

Working on my family's geneology and trying to locate what part of Italy my grandparents .. Francesco Abate and Carmela Grasso or DiGrazia (not sure of grandparent's spelling) came from. I was told they came from Sicily in the early 1900's and settled in Pennsylvania. Francesco died in 1918 and my grandmother remarried Quirico Corveddu, who was from Sassari, Sardenia. Does anyone out there know of any Abate/Abato/Abote/ from somewhere in Somerset County, PA? Because I don't know the exact spelling, I am not able to get anywhere with my research.
