Subject: Villavallelonga ancestry
My husband and I just returned from a 3 week vacation in Italy. While there, we spent two days in Villavallelonga, the small town where our grandparents came from. My maiden name is Tantalo and my mother's maiden name is Lippa. Of course, we met many people with the same last names, however, since my Italian wasn't very good, it was difficult to question anyone on our ancestors. I have names of my grandparents' parents, but nothing was found in the cemetery, which I think was because of the earthquake of 1915. All of the ancestors that did not come to America, and died before 1915, the remains of any gravesites were difficult to find out about. Any help as to how I can gather information from home (Rochester, New York) would be appreciated.
