Barbara,

I haven't yet been able to make a connection. Here's a bit more information. Sulpizio had the following kids:

Marietta, born 1905, went to the US at about the age of 16, lived in Camden NJ most of her life, passed away about 7 years ago, one daughter and one granddaughter, and one great grandson currently in NJ.

Francesco, born 1906, remained in Italy, passed away, son and others currently in Pescara.

Giacinto, born 1912, remained in Italy, currently in Teramo with wife and daughter. Just visited them this Feb. Total of 3 daughters in the area.

Pasquale, born 1914, remained in Italy, passed away, wife, son and daughter in Teramo.

Vincenzo, born 1917, immigrated to Canada in the mid 50's, passed away in 1983, 4 children currently in Welland and St Catharines Ontario.

Guglielmo, born 1922, immigrated to Belgium, then Canada in 1958. Daughter Gabriella born 1957 in Belgium, Albert (me) born in 1959 in Welland Ontario. Mom & Dad currently living in Cambridge Ontario where I'm located.

Angolino, born 1925, immigrated to Canada in the early 60's, returned to Italy in the mid 80's, currently living in Tossecia, just 5 mins outside of Flamignano. You would have driven past his house along the road to Flamignano.

So, you can see from the birth dates and immigration status that my dad and his siblings would not have known your husband and his siblings. However, there's a good chance that Guiseppe and Sulpizio (my dad's father) would have been related. My parents confirmed Sulpizio was an only child and his dad's name was Angelo. That's all I have to extend the family tree. It is possible that Sulpizio and Guiseppe were cousins, but we'll need to understand the previous generation to make the connection.

I also mentioned Mario Menie and Yolanda Tomasetti to my parents. It appears they were neighbours in Flamignano. It appears they were not first cousins with my dad.

I was in touch with a Bob Coccagna on the internet a couple years ago. He and many of his relatives are located outside of Philadelphia. In my brief communication with him, we were not able to make a connection. It seemed his situation was much like yours in that his family immigrated to the US long ago. If you wish, I can forward his e-mail address to you (I have it on the home computer).

Glad to hear that you had the chance to visit the area in Italy. I was going to send a recent picture of Flamignano, a view of it on the mountain side from my uncle Angelo's house. Its a beautiful area isn't it. I grow to appreciate it more with every trip I make. My mother's relatives are from Colledara, just 10 mins away from Flamignano, on the way to the Church of San Gabrielle (you may have gone there in 1973).

Well, I'll stop now.

Albert
