My mother, my father and one brother was born there. Seems as there are a lot of people with the same common interest.My father was born there in 1888.Cesidio Carbone. they lived in the main piazza. My mothers name was Catherine rotondo, born 1892. Her parents were Paolo and Elizabeth Rotondo. Her maiden name was Di Giannantonio.My father came here in 1908, stayed til 1910, went back ,married my mother in 1913 came back to america. Due to the war my mother wasn t able to come until 1919. my oldest brother was born in 1914,(deceased) 1993.Wesettled in W.Va. My father was a coal miner. After a severe injury in 1933 left him unable to work as a miner. I also recall them visiting a family named Scarpone in Pierce W.Va. in the late 1930s. We moved to Newburgh N.Y. in 1939 as my father had a cousin living here by the name of Pasquale Santacrose whose mother was my grandmother Carbone s sister. There mainden name was D Guistino. My mother also had a sister there named Maria Rotondo DiGrandis. she lived there until she became ill with a stroke at about 1980. I visited her in 1983 in Pescara where she went to live with her children. She had five children. It appears as though Amy Coletti has alot of info on the Rotondo family.
