: Dear Elizabeth,: I may have connection information for you. My sister's maiden name: Sofia Corrine Tagliente. Her Mother was Selma Pietrantonio, who married Giuseppe Tagliente, in Iron Mountain. Also from Iron Mt. were a family of Pietrantonios who moved to Eveleth, Minnesota. My cousin's Mother was a Pietrantonio,AND I WILL CONTACT HER FOR MORE INFO. on that branch of the family, also my sister, who may have more on Selma.(Selma Pietrantonio Tagliente, passed on, in Iron Mt. as a young woman, when my sister was a very young child.) The Eveleth branch, was fathered by (Tony)Pietrantonio.(Will check on the first name.), since we always called him Compare, I am not sure. His sister,Mary, married Tony Rainaldi. They also lived in Eveleth. Two children, Eloise and (?). : Tony Pietrantonio's children were, Rose, Elizabeth,Violet, Mary ( my cousin's Mother), Joe, and another boy.( All have passed on.) I do not recall other children , there may have been. This I will check on, as well. The Valenti's and the Corsi's are also connected, through marriage. My father's sister, Anina Tagliente married a Corsi. They lived in Camden, N.J. That was the last time I saw her. Selma was connected to the Valenti family, Tilio and Eva ,my sister's aunt and uncle.(lived in Iron Mt.): I apologize for not finding the proper info first, before I wrote to you, but this is the first time on this site , and I was very excited to find communication from a connection to my childhood. My family was very close to the Pietrantonio family through both my Mother, a DeLuca, whose brother married Mary Pietrantonio, and my Father's first wife, Selma Pietrantonio.I also have a cousin, a Corsi, by marriage, in Iron Mt., and I will see if she has any Pietrantonio info. : I found my father's ship manifest, and photo of the ship, on ellisislandrecords.org. Also an uncle. The search for Selma, did not offer info. I keep trying. You may want to try the Ellis Island site, if you have not already. Until I have more information, blessings for your search. Josie T. : note: I kept my maiden name which is Tagliente. Recently , a person called the college I teach at, when he saw my name in the course book. It turned out that our grandfathers were brothers, his Mother, a Tagliente, and he lives within 2 miles of where I live! We did not know each other existed! His Mother's sister, lives in the city of my sister, and now they have contacted each other! So don't give up your search! Thank you for responding! Yes Selma did have a child which everyone called Corrine! Selma was my grandmother's younger sister as is Eva. My grandmother passed away about 10 years ago at the age of 92 in Iron Mountain. I am trying to figure out how Anthony Pietrantonio is related. Was his father Nick Pietrantonio? This is very exciting! My father jokingly says that most of the Italians who settled in Iron Mountain are probably related in some way since alot of them originated in the Capestrano Italy area. I hope to hear more from you!
