Hi Giuseppe,

I am in South Western Pennsylvania, about 60 miles south or Pittsburgh. The remains of the Filoso family I am related to are in Dayton, Ohio.

To sort of update you, My Aunt Virginia Filoso Novelli, lives there with her husband Al Novelli.

My aunts Frances, and Liz are all passed away along with my Mother, Mary who died the day I was born. My uncles Filoso are all gone too. My Aunt Frances's Daughter Mary became a Nun and now rents my Grand Parents Filoso's house which is right across the street from the house she was raised in.

My Aunt Julia Filoso Perry is still living and also lives in Dayton. She put together a family tree a while ago which Aunt Virginia is getting for me. Ceil, Liz and Frances married the D'Amicos, two of which were brothers, Woody, Vince, and Mikerespectively.
I can give you some background on their families if you like. Aunt Virginia has a daughter that works for Microsoft. Uncle Al is retired, he was the Non-Com Purchasing Officer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. Another of my Uncles worked at Delco in Dayton and the rest of my Uncles worked for National Cash Register. I think Grand Pap worked there also.

My Mother married William Alexander.

I am hoping to go to Pretoro for a visit. I am interested in my heritage and the history of the town my Grand Parents were from.

What part of the country are you from?

Dave

: Hi Dave,

: I'll have to check with my parents and other folks as they are the keepers of the genealogy. I will be going back to Pretoro in a few weeks. There are quite a few Filoso's here in Ottawa. There is two group of Filoso's in Pretoro. My great granddad was Tomasso Filoso, maybe your grandad and my great grandad were brothers. I'll check and get back to you.

: I am sure that the 2 Filoso clans are related somehow, but I am not sure. Anyway, it is good to here from you. I will check with my folks tomorrow and get you some more information. They are pretty good at figuring out who is related to who in Pretoro.

: Take care,

: Giuseppe Filoso

: : My Grand Parents, Rocco Filoso and Margherita Filoso came to this country form Pretoro in the early 1900s. Grand pap came first then sent for Grand Ma and my Aunt Concetta (Liz) and Uncle Frank (Camillo). If all goes right I want to come to Pretoro for a visit. My goal is to see what the country is like and find out what it was like in the early 1900s. If I have any relatives there I want to meet with them. I will need a translator as I do not speak Italian. My aunts married 3 of the D'Amicos and oen aunt married a Novelli while another maried a Perry. My Mother was Mary Filoso and died the day I was born.

: : If you are a relative, please email me.
: : Thanks,

: : : Ciao a tutti,

: : : My parents Tommaso and Giovana (Difrancescomarino) came to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in the mid 1950's. I know that alot of Filoso's are here in Canada, but there are others in the US and South America. Would be good to swap any stories.
