This was name my grandpa used in USA. It evolved into Luffred.Have discovered correct info on my grandpa. He was born Antonio Esposito Sept. 14, 1882 in Morrone del Sannio. His father was Pietro Esposito, of "unknown" parents born in Provvidenti (1857). His mother was Maria Michela Addolorato Mustillo born in 1859 in Morrone. (My grandpa's family lived with Antonio Ioffreda and his family in Morrone.) Grandpa's mother died Sept. 16, 1882. My great-grandfather Pietro remarried a Maria Michela Iorio and they had a son Domenicantonio Esposito (my great-uncle)in 1885. My grandpa came to USA in 1899; my great-Uncle "Tony" came to US in 1900 for several years(have no info on that trip).He returned to Italy and in 1909 he married a Maria Giuseppa Girolarmo of Provvidenti. In 1910 he returned to US again to work in hopes of bringing family. When he next returned to Italy he was drafted for WWI and was killed in combat May 30, 1917. I would very much like to know if my great uncle had children and if any relatives might still live in Morrone or nearby village. I have found that there are 2 Esposito names in the Morrone telephone directory as well as many Mustillo surnames and Iorio surnames (found on Internet).If anyone has info that they are willing to share, I would be most grateful.
