I would appreciate any history associated with the village. When and why it was founded, any significant events, peak population etc... It appears the village was heavily populated by the surname 'Mattei' - why? I am also interested in tracing the 'Mattei' name back as far as possible. My great-grandfather's name was Alessandro, grandfather's name was Ettore, he immigrated to the U.S. (PA) around 1915-17.
