Posted by jacobsfn  --  NAME: Nicholas Jacobs on 12/24/02 at 7:15 PM Subject:   Iacoboni connections? Happy Holidays. My name is Nicholas Jacobs, a.k.a., Francisco Nicola Iacoboni. My grandfather came to Massachusetts from near Rome in the early 1900s, worked in a toy factory, moved onto Wisconsin to work as a logger, then to Pittsburgh to help build Highland Park Zoo and Mellon Square Park in Pittsburgh. Finally, he ended up at St. James Park, now Linden Hall, where he worked for 50+ years. My father changed his name to Jacobs in the 30's due to the extreme prejudice toward Italians in that area. Soon after he was employed on the P&LE Railroad, then eventually ended his career with Highmark Blue Cross where he died at 58. I'm now 55 and am the president of both a hospital and a research institute near Johnstown. Websites wriwindber.org and windbercare.com.
