I know that my great grandfather FILIPPO BERTONE (also known in his military service as BERTONI) was born in the town of FERNO (ex Milano, actual Varese province)in 1847. His parents were ANTONIO MARIA BERTONE and RACHELE RONCHI. I cannot get additional information about Filippo's siblings from the Stato Civile of Ferno because the files were lost in a fire some time ago. I would very much appreciate if someone can tell me how can I obtain a list of the people from FERNO who fought or died during World War I and if there is any BERTONE / BERTONI in it I would like to know the date of his/their birthday and the names of his/their parents or any relatives.
