I can give you some hard data about your request.
Between 1880 and 1926, there was 111 persons with the surname "rucci", who arrived at Buenos Aires POrt.
I know this, because there is a Foundation which recopiled all the inmigration data (CELMA - Centro de Estudios Migratorios Latinoamericanos).
This is their site, where you can find ruccis. I searched for Pietro, but there isn`t any record.May be, he gaved other name in when he reched Argentina.
