Gregory,

It does seem that we have a match. To be certain, however, let me give you all that I know about my Di Cristofaro family.

As I said before my grandmother was Concetta Di Cristofaro. She was married to Biagio Mucci. As far as I know she came from Vasto,Chieti and he, I thonk may have come from Campobasso. Biagio, my grandfather died in 1943.

Concetta had 4 sisters: Anna, Ruby, Josie (Josephine) and Celia. I knew them all, but mostly Anna. She was the last to pass away.

Anna may have been married twice. I never knew her first husband nor his name. Anna's second husband was Michael Di Pompo. Since Anna and Concetta (my grandmother)were sisters, Anna was my father's aunt.

Aunt Anna and Uncle Mike were frequent visitors to my parents' (Ernest and Madeline Mucci) home in the Bronx, NY. In fact, Aunt Anna and Uncle Mike both attended my daughter's wedding here in Clearwater, Florida in 1984. Uncle Mike predeceased Aunt Anna.

As far as I recall, Aunt Anna had two daughters, Funzie and Olga, both of whom I recall meeting in my youth. One or both of them lived, I think, in Rockland County, NY.

If Anna Di Cristofaro was the sister of my grandmother Concetta and this same Anna is also your grandmother, then you would have to be the son of either Olga or Funzie.

Please let me know your mother's maiden name.

If this truly is a match, then you and I are third cousins, my father Giulio, who was also known as Ernest, and your mother being first cousins.

Please let me know if we have a match or just an uncanny coincidence of names and places. If we are related, I would like to continue this correspondence, since my sister Julia and I desire to trace our family's lineage. If we are related, then we have a good start on the DiCristofaro side. What we desire now is information about the Mucci side.

As for my grandfather, Biagio Mucci, I heard it said that he was one of 19 children and came to the United States via South America.

Please let me hear from you.

Sincerely,

Ralph

Anna
