I copied from the processetti of my bisnonni marriage (1820) the extract of my ancestor's births. As far as I can determine the extract states: "Certifico io sottoscitto parroco della chiesa parrocchiale di San Silvestro del comune di Mutignano, come cercando il libro di battezzato, che prosio (?) di me si conserva ho travato le seguinte parola a foglia 32" - which I translate as I certify, I, undersigned, the priest of the church of Saint Sylvester in the town of Mutignano, searching the book of baptisms which are maintained by me (?), found the following words at page 32 - I believe this to be 26 May 1785, but proper Latin would be "viginti sex" and "Maius" but is this the birth date or baptismal date???? If baptismal what is the reasonable period from birth to baptism in 18th century Abruzzo? Later two lines down it looks like latin: "infantum de decim die" -- my guess is baby of ten days. Is the probable birthdate then 16 May 1785? Has someone had extracts translated from the latin so that I can understand what information was in the parish records? and how it is structured. Thanks!
