I was born in Canada, but I am currently living in the US. My grandfather was named Rocco Matricardi and was from Francavilla and had a wife named Maria Pia Pavone (?). My father, Vincenzo Matricardi (born in Francavilla) mentioned to me that he went to New York (1920s)for a couple of years but he later returned to Italy. He died in 1945 and had eight children. I have returned to Francavilla numerous times and I am surprised that Matricardi is a common name in the Francavilla area. Sorry I couldn't help you, but it is neat hearing from Matricardis scattered around the world. Rocco Matricardi San Jose, CA : Matricardi, Metricarti, Metricardi, Looking for information on Rocco Matricardi who married Filomeno Coccia, Had children Antonio and Grazilla. They came to America in Early 1900's. A paper we have looks like 1910 would be the date. They came from Francavilla.
