Hi, My mom was known for her cavachoons but unfortunatly we don't have her recipie, but a cousin of mine makes them, this is her recip 1 20oz. can cecei (boiled & mashed)
1 cup walnuts (toasted & grated fine)
1 lemon rind-grated
1 orange rind-grated
6 oz choc. chips
1/4 c. grape jam
1/4 c. honey
2 tablespoons whiskey
1/4 taspn. nutmeg and cinnamin
After cecei are mashed, add all the other ingredients and cook until all chocolate chips are melted.

Dough--1/2 cup oil, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup warm water, 2 1/2 cups flour, 1/4 cup white wine.
Make a well with flour, add eggs, water, wine, pinch of salt. Form a soft dough and roll out, cut into squares and put a tablespn. of filling in center, fold over, like making a ravioli, seal edges withy water, deep fry. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Makes about three dozen. Store in tin containers to keep crisp.
We called these "christmas cookies" as kids.
Some people make them with chestnuts instead or with the cecei. I hope this is what you are looking for.
Let me know how they turn out?
