I am interested in finding out some history, specifically how it came to be names Sulma in the time of Ovid, a name which suggests the Biblical King Solomon, or the word shalom. thanks.>>>>>I have the official explanation from the city of Sulmona itself: according to tradition, ancient Sulmo was founded by Solimo Frigio, one of Aeneas' companions. Ovid later immortalized the town with the words "Sulmo mihi patria est" - Sulmona is my fatherland!
