: : My name is Deanna. My father's name was Joseph Nicholas Vecchiotti. I am the second of his four daughters. His two brothers are Ettore (Arthur) and Hugo. My father and his brothers lived most of their lives in New York, but in retirement my father and Hugo moved to Florida. Hugo is still living there. My dad died in April of 1999. Ettore is still living in New York. My grandfather's name was Nicole and I named my first daughter after him. He died in July, 1947, just two months after I was born. He was married to Fiorentina Gizzi or Gittzi (I'm not sure of the spelling) who died in 1969. I would love to know how we are related. I know of only one cousin my father had and his name was Enzo or Enzio. My cousin Arthur (Ettore's oldest son) knows of some other cousins and I'm sure Ettore knows the family history. He is 84 and recently lost his wife, Inez, who was a truly wonderful woman. Ettore would know of relatives in Italy since his family still has close connections with Italy. Arthur married a fantasic girl from Turin, Brigitta. Because of Britt, the family returns to Italy frequently and has many contacts there. We will be going to Italy in November because my 3rd daughter will be completing a semester abroad in Florence and we plan to travel to Abbruzzi. Arthur and Britt will be there at the same time. Please let me know how we are related and who you are trying to reach in Italy. Perhaps we can be of some help to each other. I think it's amazing that my 2nd daughter located you on the net.

: :Hi Deana. My grandfather Guiseppe's first son by his first wife is your grandfather Nick. Grandpa remarried Theresa (my grandmother) when his first wife died. They had three children Susan, Rocco, and Vincent. Rocco is my father. He died in 1981. Nick's younger sister is Genesia. She came to the US with my grandfather in 1905. My grandmother and Susan who was a year old came a year later I believe. Rocco and Vincent were born in New York. Genesia married Henry Grassi and had four children: Lucy, Enzo, Joseph, and Eugene. All of whom are alive. I met Ettore a few times at family wakes and remember he spent a lot of time in Asia in the clothing business. I beilve his sone Arhtur is a physician. I met Hugo more often since we visited Fort Meyer for vacation. Also his daughter Julie spent four years at St. Louis University where we live. I know that my garndfather had a brother who came to the US as well. I see his sons once every five years. They both own restaurants in the New York area. My daughter Sara lives in New York. Please share this with Michelle.

: My ambition is to visit family members who still live in Penne where it all began. I don't know who they are. I understand my grandfather's house still stands today. I envy your visit to Italy in November. Let me know the relatives who remain in Penne. Maybe Artie (Ettore) can share what he knows. I look foward to hearing from you again. All the best.

Deanna

Any details of current family members in Penne?
