It is great to see someone looking up my surname from the same town in Italy that my family is from. Thank you and God Bless. : My great-grandfather, Michelangelo "Michael" SASSI immigrated to the United States from Montorio nei Frentani in 1920. I am currently researching the following surnames from the village: COLANTONIO, DI LUCA, DEL ROSSO, FERRARO, FIORILLI, FRANCHILLI, MANCINI, MONTANARO, PETRELLA, RAIMONDO, SASSI, STICCO, TERZANO, VESPA. The LDS have microfilmed the civil records of Montorio during the XIX Century, and they are available at family history centers. I have had success in tracing my ancestry back to the beginning of the XVIII Century through these records.
