It is interesting that you mentioned the names of Bucci and Greco. My father was born in Montorio Nei Frentani in 1898. We have a Greek name but the ancestry is clearly Italian and goes back to Teodoro Pateras who fought with Garibaldi in 1860-1865 for the unification of Italy. Teodoro has a bust near Garibaldi's monument in Rome.
My father had friends or relatives called Bucci and Greco. The latter included the famous Jose Greco, the Flamenco dancer who died about two or three years ago. It also included Jose's sister Norina Greco who was an opera singer. Jose's original name was Gennaro.
In the TV program Jeopardy, a question was asked about Jose Greco's birthplace; the guesses were Spain, Argentina and The U.S. Alex Trabeck said "Italy, he was Italian".
I believe that a distant relative of mine lives in France. She maintains the name Pateras but I have been unable to contact her.

Buona Fortuna, Cent'anni
