I am descended from Pittsburgh Marianis but do not have much info. My grandmother was Clementine Mariani b. 1871 and her mother Mary Mariani b. 1835, both from Parma, Italy. Clementine came to America in 1885, naturalized 1887, and married 1) Tommasini 2) Serpagli and 3)Maillard. She was translator for City of Pittsburgh and one story I have is that she was "kidnapped" from her Parma convent by her two brothers and brought to the States in her teens.
