The name goes back to the early 1700's in Gimigliano (the furthest back I can go with civil records).: I'd say at least one-third of all Minervino's in the world today come from someone born in Gimigliano. The proportion of Minervini's is fewer in Gimigliano.: It seems likely that Minervino and Minervini are often the same surname as I have found numerous Minervino's that changed their name to Minervini and vice versa.
