Maria/Bosco Martese Understand from Canadian relatives(Hamilton, Ontario) thatCiapanna family dates back to !800's and may still be in Rocca Sta. Maria/Bosca d. Martese area. My great-grandfather was Filippo Ciapanna who had an older brother Fernando and a sister (unknown name). Filippo went to Guilianova and oldest son was my grandfather Antonio who was born in Guilianova and married Annarella Ciafardone in Montepagano or Guilianova in 1908, emigrated to U.S. in1910 via Ellis Island and died in coal mine explosion March 1915 in Layland Gentry, Fayette County, West Va. Left wife and 3 children who moved to Mingo Junction, Ohio to be with Ciafardone family there. My father was oldest son, Domenic Philip Chappano(Ciapanna) Whose name was changed in orphanage when mother died in 1918. Mother was born in Piano San Pietro/Civitella del Tronto and have relatives stillthere as well as in San Benedetto del Tronto(A.P.). Wife's family from Guilianova and still has family there. Have visited area twice nbut never knew of Ciapanna family until this past year. Would be happy if someone could verify existing Ciapanna family and contact me. Follow Ups:
