Go to Familysearch.org, this is the Mormon's web site. You can find a family history center near you and order the films of the records from Salt Lake City Utah. My great uncle's Mother was a Covella from the town of Gioia del Colle, Province of Bari, Italy and I have been able to trace their family back to records of 1809, where they were born in the 1700's.
