Angela. My great grandfather was based in Southgate at some point we think. However, the clan was in the main all born around Richmond, Surrey The A.Tomasso and sons barrel organ is in the Brentford music museum. Who was your italian relatives I.E Grandmother/father and yur parents? There could well be a link. My great grandfather was Antonio Tomasso married to Rosa. Her maiden name was Ciccone. They arrived in england in 1879. Does any of that seem familiar? Check this link out http://www.britishpathe.com/product_display.php?searchfilm=Tomasso&Search.x= it is of an Antonio Tomasso from 1960. It isn't my Antonio but there were three family members who came over. My Antonio walked over at 16Yrs old. I have the 1901 census returns for 1901 for the Tomasso's so if you send me an e-mail to : benbowsprotege- AT - yahoo.co.uk I will send them on. I can't find the side of my family. The itinerant musicianship and the walking over from Italy - is there a Gypsy connection as both are prevelent amoungst the European Gypsy occupations. I look forwards to hearing back from you. If you do send me a mail please label it very clearly with the subject matter as I have been getting a lo of spam recently. With regards. Peter.
