If they lived in the surrrounding area of Sulmona - le frazione - it might have been Sulmona previously - In recent years, the city lines were moved so some areas they were Sulmona are now Pettorano. And there's a small frazione that belongs to Sulmona called Casa di Susi. (Big surname there!) I hope this helps. Follow Ups:
