These folks about which you write are my direct ancestors.

My sister has a picture of Luigi and Anna and a picture of Biagio and his two brothers. Biagio and Orazio, are my great uncles and Pasquale, my grandfather. Pasquale moved to Philadelphia but Biagio and Orazio stayed in Washington. I met Biagio and Orazio as a child.

As the Horatio Alger-like story is told, Biagio, was the first to emigrate and encouraged his siblings to join him. Biagio worked hard and achieved the American dream of owning several businesses, a beautiful home and sending all his children to college and some to professional school. He died in the early 1950's.

This branch of the Vagnoni family had many offspring. Many no longer live in the Washington area, but many still do. Pasquale had six sons all of whom died. Those six sons had twelve children, six male, five female. All still are living, with an age range of 60 years(my sister) to mid 40's. Of the 12, 11 still live in the Phildelphia area except for my sister who lives in California. The Michael who responded might be my cousin. My sister is in touch with off spring of both Biagio and Oratio. We have a family tree that one of Biagio's son's sent us.
