I don't know how I may or may not be related other Stanziano's. I recently discovered that my name was changed from Stinziani to Stanziano somewhere between my grandparents and my father and his siblings. All documents in Italy have the name "Stinziani". My father and all of his brothers and sisters became Stanziano. My grandfather was often Stinziano or Stinziani. My grandfather was born in the town of Morrone del Sannio which is next to Castellino del Biferno. It is possible that the names are of the same origin and due to who knows what reason the spelling changed (perhaps due to what seems to have been a lot of illiteracy in Italy going back). If my line can be traced back far enough I am sure the Stanziano/Stinziani connection may be made.
