I knew my father’s mother, Maria Antonia D’Alessandro, whose maiden name was Macchia. She is from Toritto and was born in 1882 in Toritto and died in New York in 1966. (I have a copy of her birth certificate from Toritto.) My grandfather, Vito D’Alessandro, was also born in 1882. He is from Grumo Appula. (I have copies of his naturalization papers.) He arrived at Ellis island in 1903, but I know absolutely nothing about his family in Grumo. I am interested in learning more and perhaps travel to these two towns to search for ancestors. Can you help me? Any advice would be appreciated Follow Ups:
