My mother came to the U.S.A. from Lettomanoppello.When we were kids( A few years ago )if we got sick the first thing she would say was we had il malocchio...she would get out the olive oil and a bowl of water .she would put some drops of oil in the water to determin that we had malocchio then she would say some secret prayers and the malocchio was gone...Does anyone know how the drops of oil in the water would indicate that it was malocchio and what the secret prayers are.
