My great-grandfather and grandmother were from Ferrazzano His name was Errenio and hers was Carmella (Perella). They emigrated to the USA in, I believe, 1888 and settled in the Boston, MA area. By 1900, per the census, they were spelling the name Descenza. My grandmother was born in Ferrazzano, also and came here with her parents. I went to Ferrazzano in May, this year. To see this village, rising to your left, as you leave Campobasso, is astounding. It looks like the "magic kingdom". While there, we (my cousin Mary and I) were able to see my grandmother's baptism record, from 1881, at the church. We did find, that to research other relatives records, you have to know their birthdate, or birth year, at least. Town officials are not about to search through the record books and YOU are not allowed to.
