34: Abruzzi and Renzetti Heritage Forums - June 2002

Posted by renzetti- AT - tamu  --  NAME: Robert Renzetti on 06/07/02 at 9:53 AM Subject:   Abruzzi and Renzetti I have been trying to delineate a likely family tree for my branch of the Renzetti family, but I haven't had much luck. My grandfather, Nicolas, is my only source of information, but his memory is a little weak on this topic and also his father, Rocco, didn't much talk about it with him. According to my grandfather, who is still alive (in his low 80's), his father, Rocco, moved from Abruzzi as a teenager in the late 1800's or early 1900's. My grandfather was born in 1921, and his father died in his 40's while my grandfather was in highschool. According to my grandfather, Rocco had 2 siblings, Nicolas and a sister, whose name he doesn't recall. One of the reasons that Rocco left Italy was because his father married his deseased wife's sister. The sister lived with the married couple, taking care of her because she wasn't married and needed a place to live; but once his wife died he didn't want the town to "talk" about a single woman living with a widowed man. So apparantly he married her, which upset Rocco. He left for America soon after that. My grandfather had 3 sisters (Olga, Rossario and Elodia). Does anyone have some help with this?
