Subject: palmieri, pacifici, salciccioli
I am doing some research on my father's family from Gagliano
Aterno in Abruzzi. My father Fernando is now 84 years. He tells me that his grandfather or his great grandfather was German. All I have found is that his father, my grandfather Carmine, was born in Gagliano Aterno in 1883. My paternal great grandfather Antonio Palmieri was born in Gagliano in the 1840's. My paternal grandmother was Paola Pacifici also of Gagliano, born in 1887. I know from stories of my Warren, Michigan Gagliano Aterno Club that I am related to the Salciccioli, and DeFelice families somewhere also. Does anyone know of the Pacifici family or the Salciccioli, or the Palmieri families of Gagliano Aterno? My grandfather Carmine was light complexioned, blue eyes, and blond/brown hair as are some of my cousins. Not I or any of my siblings. Is this just family mythology? I would find it hard to believe that some German speaking person could migrate to a small Abruzzo hill town in the 1800's without causing a stir, and a lot of confusion? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
