I have a feeling when one went and then sent word home, many others followed. We just returned from a trip to Agnone and we were able to find our grandparents birth certificates, marriage license and a tax notice. All we had were their birth dates. The city has records from 1809. If you have the birth year, they can find the records in minutes. If you have never been to Agnone, you must try to go. It is truly a beautiful city.
