96: 9th Inf. Div. entitled "Hold Fast" Heritage Forums - October 2002

Div. entitled "Hold Fast" I am searching for any and all information on the following:9th Infantry Division, The 313 Infantry Regiment, and The 79th Infantry Division. My father and Uncle both served in the US Army and were active in the Invasion of Normandy. My uncle (Henry Bertrand) was killed in action, and my father John Clifton Bertrand was captured by Germans in Dec. 1944 and held until May of 1945 at Stalag 2-B or B2. They were both from South Louisiana and had heavy cajun french accents. One of my father's buddies was a (last name) "Tibbits".
