As a youngster, I frequented two cafes in my hometown of Utica NY. The owners were from Abruzzo (Chieti), and their most popular pastry then, and even today, was a small chocolate pie called pastichiotti. Is anyone else out there familiar with it? I am particularly interested in knowing where in Italy they were popular, if not in Abruzzo. Some has suggested that it was not a mainland item, but rather Sicilian.
