Rocco Dell'Arciprete was my father's uncle. Rocco brought my father over from Arielli in the early 1900's. They were very close. My father returned to Arielli and married Maria Di Piero, my mother. Rocco's wife, Camilla, and my mother left Arielli together, with my sister,Marianna, and the Dell'Arciprete children. The Arciprete's settled in East Cambridge. We were very closely attached to the Arciprete's. There were con-tant visits between us. We had many happy moments to-gether. Salvatore, Rocco's son, was my cousin. He was condsiderably older that I. He had a very large family when I was a mere infant. I left the Boston area and settled in Florida. I have lost with contact the Arciprete family. The last contact was with their son, Arthur. He was a little older than me. He was more my brother Tom's age, and they had more in common. Their oldest son, John, lived in Quincy. He was in the trucking business. Rocco's daughter, Loretta, was a favorite of my mother. Loretta and my sister, Marianna, came over from Italy together with my mother.
I shall always remember the times we spent together around the player piano. We would crank away on the pedals and sing the words from the rolls as they passed. One of the tunes that sticks in my memory is "Among my Souvenirs." "We count them all part and as the teardrops start, I find broken heart among my souvenirs." What happy days they were.
