Does anyone know of the Sansoni family in Abruzzo? Vitorio Sansoni married Elizabeta Ciambotti in Compotosto Italy.
From the internet, I found a database of 20 million HOME telephones in all of Italy. With 65 million population
, that becomes 3+ people per family and is about correct as far a s numbers go. The largest concentration
for the Sansoni is arround Rome. Compotosto (Lake) is the last place we visited and found cousins
there. According to geneology specialists. the Sansoni originated in Milan and spread all over Northern
and central Italy. There are no phones (Home) in Campangnia or Southern Italy as of 1999, with the
Sansoni name. And none in sicily.
Interestingly, The Sansoni are of ancient Sabine Tribe stock. It was these people, along with the Latini,
and the Etruscans who came together to make Rome, ....Rome. Together the conquered the whole
known civilized world and ruled for 1000 years. The Etruscans (Tuscan) supplied the culture, painting,
sculpture, literature, classical music, opera, manners, language etc, the Latini were astute in
governance, law, engineering, and were a very noble people, and the Abruzzi were the military
force second to none, and thus the Roman Empire was born. The Sansoni still carry the tradition of
strength in their families from these early times. Translated, Sansoni becomes Sampson, in English.
And the bible story of Samson and Delilah is told to illustrate the strong physical bearing of the Sansoni.
Interestingly, the Abruzzi people (Sabines) would not join in with the Latini and Etruscans and so
history records an event that caused the Sabines to go along with them It was called "The rape of the Sabine
Women" It seems that when the men of Abruzzi were off fighting a war somewhere, the Latini and Etruscan
men came to Abruzzi and impregnated every child bearing age woman. This caused a blood relationship
and the Sabine people from Abruzzi grew close to the others, and together they formed Rome.
The Sansoni are part of that inheiritance. We are proud of it. Ciao Alex Sansone (Sansoni)
