I would go to two places if I were in Cervinara. First, the local church(es)
and then City Hall. That's assuming you have your grandfather's name and
possibly your grandmother's maiden name.
Since you're going so soon it's too late, but the Mormon Church has an excellent
service they provide in the U.S. for amateur geneology tracers. They have
photo copied birth records from even the remotest of little villages in Europe
and will assist you in a search (for a reasonable fee). You don't have to
go to Salt Lake City for this service as many of their local branches around
the country can assist you. I just never got around to doing that.
