I think I was billeted there during the winter of 1944--no window glass, very cold and we slept on the floor! Also, a young Italian boy was shot and killed (stealing) by one of our men--very sad. There was an Italian lady on the street who cooked eggs and chips for us. I sent a letter for her to relatives in the USA. She was a very kind lady.
