I am Jennifer Muscatiello. I live in Northville, New York which is about an hour from the capital region (Albany, Troy etc). My grandfather Anthoney Muscatiello, grew up in Naples, Italy. He moved to the United States when he was about 10. His parents Aneilo and Isabella moved the family to Troy, New York where they lived for many years. He married my grandmother, Carmella Manti, they started a family and moved around quite a bit. I have an Uncle Tony who lives in Rotterdam, NY and an Uncle Martin who lives in Kinderhook, NY. My Aunt Elizabeth lives in Rotterdam with grandma Carmella. I know of the resturant near Albany called Moscatiello's. My father believes that we are related to them somehow because orginally out last name was spelled MOSCATIELLO as opposed to MUSCATIELLO. I am not really sure how that change came about. There is a story of how it was changed when my great grand parents went through Ellis Island many years ago. I have never really asked my grandmother but I will next time I see her! My father says that in Naples, Italy there are many many Moscatello's. He said the name is the equivalent to smith in the United States. In other words...it is a popular last name.
