Our family surnames are Pope (changed from Papa) and Cozzi. But I wonder if my relatives might be related to the man in Kent, England with whom you mentioned you've been in touch. My maternal great grandparents (Alexander (changed from Alessandro) and Carmina (Cozzi) Pope (changed from Papa) were from Senerchia. My great grandmother's mother died when she was an infant and her father moved to England and married and had 3 more daughters - so we have some distant cousins in England, and they probably married and had children of their own as well.
