My grandoarents Guiditta Merucci and Giacinto Notarangelo came from belmonte and settled in Scotland. I "discovered" Belmonte a few years ago when I was on a visit to Rome and decided to take a trip there and I hought it a beautiful place. My aunt still goes there every year for a few months at a time from Scotland. Like you I went to Italian lessons, although I have to admit m Italian is minimal!
